What’s your position on generative AI?

We have attempted to use generative AI to improve the quality of our work and it has never done so in a meaningful way. AI creative production apes human talent but normally produces substandard results that sometimes require more time to fix than creating the entire piece would have taken for a skilled designer. Using AI to repair bad recorded dialogue has worked for us a few times, but usually it makes otherwise minor problems worse and conventional methods have yielded similar (and sometimes better) results. We do not use AI to generate writing because its characteristic chirpy, bland voice is not conducive to reader engagement. We have not found a use for AI video.

In other words, it’s trash. We would like to spare you the frustration of trying to wring something out of AI that a person would give to you willingly.
